Natural Diamond Sourcing

Learn about what sets us apart

  • Your design lead will source your natural diamond based on your design, grading, and budget preferences. Your diamond consultation is typically the first step in your design process, and we’ll use this opportunity to select the feature diamond for your design while confirming design details for the ring. You’ll have the opportunity to review an informative selection of comparable diamonds so that you can fully understand how grading affects pricing and appearance.

  • Natural diamonds can come from a variety of sourcing channels. If you are hoping to source in the most sustainable way possible, consider opting for a recycled diamond. Post-consumer recycled diamonds are available in most cuts and quality grades, and all come certified by GIA. You can also focus on region-specific sourcing, and we offer origin-disclosed diamonds from Canada, Botswana, and other countries. Or, you can take a more straightforward approach and source natural conventional diamonds with no origin disclosed.

We also offer salt & pepper diamonds and heritage antique diamonds.

  • Unlike lab created diamonds, natural diamond pricing is going to be fairly consistent between sources. You will typically find some less expensive options online or through direct wholesalers than what we offer in our studio, but that extends from our bespoke service offerings and typically accounts for a price variance of a couple thousand dollars at the most. Our clients find it worthwhile to invest more in a diamond sourced with us owing to the full disclosure reporting we can offer, the educational sourcing we provide, and the ability to ensure that your design parameters are met with your centerpiece diamond.

Natural diamonds introduce an element of unmatched uniqueness to your design. Because the material is valued so much higher, diamond cutters will be more inventive with their cuts and try to maximize the material as much as possible, creating more diversity in shapes, colors, and proportions than what you might find on the lab created side.

If you are interested in sourcing your natural diamond in a conscientious way, we suggest learning about our post-consumer recycled and antique options: these are diamonds that have been repurposed, cleaned up, and certified to re-enter the diamond marketplace through a providentially-tracked broker, meaning no new material has been used for the gem. Or, if you want to be judicious about your geographic origin, we are able to offer origin-verified diamonds for certain cuts and countries such as Botswana and Canada.
