A Meaningful Engagement Ring + ReDesign
Certain projects simply hit home, and this particular one was a great example of what makes our job so special.
We started with the engagement ring…
Our clients initially visited us after seeing The Kathryn design on social media and falling in love with the style. They were searching for an engagement ring to celebrate their commitment, and our design seemed to tick all the boxes for her. We selected a beautiful USA made lab created diamond for her ring, and then designed a customized Kathryn design to perfectly secure her beautiful diamond. In our first meeting, our client mentioned that she had another engagement ring which had been given to her from her first husband, who had died a few years before. At this meeting she tentatively discussed the possibility of resetting this ring, but we tabled the full evaluation for later so that she could focus on the excitement of her new engagement. And, how beautiful is her custom engagement ring?
Then, we redesigned a meaningful treasure…
After we finished the engagement ring, our client reached out again to revisit the conversation we had started about doing a new design for her original engagement ring. It was clear to me that the ring held significant emotional value to her but that she was ready to honor its history with an updated setting that she could coordinate with her new engagement ring. We both thought that a necklace would be an appropriate medium for the pretty triplet set of diamonds, so we adapted our Kathryn design into a three-stone station setting layout. It’s hard to see in the photos, but the gallery of the design mimics our Kathryn engagement gallery and the prongs follow the same lines as her engagement ring. When our client picked up the necklace (along with her beautiful Elza wedding band), she was thrilled. It meant so much to us to be able to reset what clearly was a meaningful ring into a new phase of life and memories.
